Strip Club!

We are back in Palm Beach County and Lake Worth visiting Ashley and Firefighter Cori. In all honesty, the cold dreary weather in Savannah and the balmy weather here had something to do with the decision. I mean, if you can get in a car and drive for 6 or 7 hours and be in paradise - why not?!

Ashley has been in the hospitality business almost all of her life: waitress, bartender, manager, At 35 she has a lot of experience with the success and failure of a bar. I ask her why the club that she and Cori were married at is now closed. It was the "Blue Front," and was a hip spot with a beautiful walled in garden area behind and beside. I was very comfortable there and miss it. Ash says, "that place has been a lot of things, they have a hard time making a go of it."

I ask for insight. She says, "Well, it's like this; If you go downtown in Lake Worth, there is a "strip" of great bars. You can wander from one to the other on foot, and if you get tired of one place - you go next door. The Blue Front was great, but it's one place. And you have to drive to and from there." (added - or if you are smart you get an Uber).

That makes sense, and according to Ash it has a lot to do with the rent due on a bar. If you have a place out on it's own, the rent is simply shocking. If you want to rent a place on a strip - if you want to be a member of the "Strip Club," you better be willing to sell your soul.

What do you think? What's your fave watering hole? Jukejoint on the end of a long dirt road or strip club? Drop a comment and let us know.

Your friends, The Fried Pickles.

Here's a story about the Blue Front in better days.
